01What is a web app and how is it different from a native app?
A web app opens in the browser like a website, but works like a program: it stores data, manages users, runs calculations and sends notifications. It works on the office computer and on the phone, and you can add it to your home screen with its own icon, so it opens like any other app.
A native app has to be written for iPhone and for Android, published on the stores and updated through their approval every time. A web app has a single version: when we update it, everyone gets the change the next time they open it. If your project needs features only a native app can offer, we tell you before we start.
02What businesses use web apps for
The most common cases are a portal where your clients find documents, orders or work plans, and a system to receive and organise bookings. Then there are internal tools, which replace Excel sheets and email chains, and dashboards, which bring together on one screen the numbers you now look for in different places.
The starting point is not the technology but a task that wastes your time or causes mistakes today. If you can describe it in a few lines, it can almost always become a web app.
03Users, roles and private areas
A business web app almost always has more than one kind of user. The owner sees everything, a team member only the clients they follow, the end client only their own private area. We define with you who can view, create, edit or delete each piece of information.
Everyone logs in with their own credentials and sees only the features they need, so the interface stays simple. When someone leaves the company you just deactivate their access, without changing everyone's password.
04Data security and backups
The web apps we build use encrypted connections, protected passwords and permissions enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface. If you handle client or patient data, we set up data processing with the GDPR in mind.
Data is saved with regular automatic backups, so a mistake or a failure does not cost you your work. We explain where it is stored and how it can be restored, without jargon.
05How we build a web app: from prototype to maintenance
We start by analysing how you work today and what you want to achieve. Before writing any code we show you a clickable prototype: you move between screens, try the steps and tell us what to change while changing it is still cheap.
Then we build in phases, with versions you can try along the way, and test everything on computer and smartphone. At handover we train you and your team and leave you a user manual; after launch we stay available for maintenance, fixes and new features.
06Who owns the web app's code and data?
You do. The web app's code and the data it holds belong to you, and you can export the data whenever you like. The logins to the services the web app runs on are also in your name.
If one day you decided to hand the project to someone else, you could do it without starting over. To us this is the right way to work: you stay with us because you are happy, not because you are locked in.
