Web app in practice
A web app is a real program, with logins, data and features, that opens in the browser like a website. Unlike a brochure site, it is not just for showing information: you work inside it, enter data, generate documents, manage bookings. The software runs on a server, often in the cloud, and you use it from any device.
For a business the advantage is practical: no installs on individual computers, no different versions between colleagues, updates that reach everyone at the same moment. You can work from the office, from home or from your phone during a site visit, and the data stays in one place.
NutriMi Bene, the software we built for nutritionists, is a web app: the professional manages records, meal plans and the calendar from the practice computer, while the patient logs into their private area from their phone to see the plan and the shopping list.
A web app should be designed for the screen it will actually be used on: if your technicians open it on site, you start from the phone. Ask how logins, permissions and data copies are handled. And do not confuse it with an app downloaded from a store: for many internal uses a web app costs less and is easier to maintain.
